Robert Giracello, PhD                                 Director

I have been Director of Music and Liturgy for Church of the Resurrection in Escondido since 2006.  It is a large, multi-lingual community of varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.  I currently conduct four choirs in English, Spanish, and Tagalog.
I also served as Director of the UCR Laptop Ensemble for 2009 and 2010, coaching this experimental group using ChucK programming and Ableton Live.
Every summer I conduct a Musical Theater workshop for North County DanceARTS along with choreographer Louis McKay, and act as vocal coach, director, and accompanist.

I've acted as director and musical director for several shows, including The Wiz, Grease!, Bye Bye, Birdie, Guys and Dolls,, and directed and staged my own two act opera, Nothing Spoken, with collaborator Roger Przytulski.   In the Spring of 2019 I composed the music and served as director for a concert version of St. John's Passion at Church of the Resurrection. I am an active sound technician and currently assist in audio production at Palomar College, where I've been sound designer for several events, including their productions of The Good Woman of Setzuan, and Anon(ymous), as well as a special performance of Miller Puckette's Plutron, featuring the composer himself.
