Thoughts from the Quarantine

Do you remember the "old times?" The ancient ways, where the people went out under the sun and breathed the air, and were unafraid? Do you remember when the children would gather in big buildings called "skools" and people found their food at "resteronts" and nobody baked their own bread? These were the old ways, the unremembered ways...
So, what do we do with our time now? In the midst of the isolation, ever increasing case numbers and piles of dead folks in New York, how do we fill our days? I don't do well with idle hands, I hardly ever even go on vacation. What am I to do?
1. Brand new webstie- I've been threatening to start blogging again for the longest time. On my initial website RSS blogging was a piece of cake, but when I upgraded (around 5 years ago- I think my last blog post was when my son was born) I couldn't get my webhosting client to process RSS correctly. Thank God my podcast didn't suffer the same fate. So here I am, in a brand new environment, cloud edited by Wix. We'll see how it works out.
2. New book- I actually wrote Life of the Bullet a long time ago, but I never published it. I shopped it around to a couple of literary agents, and one even requested a full manuscript. He called it "inventive, never suffering from a lack of imagination, but too hard to market." Well, I'll let you be the judge. It's only a buck for the PDF copy, let me know what you think!
3. New album- Isolation, solo piano playing from deep in the quarantine cave. 12 tracks, and only 1.99 for a digital download. Not bad. There's some free samples on the music page.
4. Other assorted compositions- A set of etudes, Quarantunes (SWIDT?) and some symphonic work. Also a film score for a beautiful short film called Monster of a Closet from JPC.
5. Having dinner with my family- almost every night. The biggest blessing of all, in my opinion. Every night saying grace with my children and staying grateful for health and family. The Lord does work in mysterious ways, doesn't he?
Take care of yourself, and share how your life has changed, I'd love to hear it...
